Apple cinnamon oatmeal and a hot-shower – it was a great start to a long day of driving around the Lake Superior.

At Terrace Bay, ON we unexpectedly found the Aguasabon Falls, a nice little detour:

We reached Thunder Bay, ON  by dusk, saw the Sleeping Giant (barely visible in the fog) and paid our respects to Terry Fox, a great Canadian.

Also in Thunder Bay stood the Kakabeka Falls.  I slowed-down the shutter speed to get this cool shot:

During the long haul to Kenora in the night, we got caught in a torrential down pour.  It was truly a scary experience – the rain pelted the windshield, visibility as terrible, the road was winding and we were constantly reminded of the threat of wandering moose.  Luckily, we successfully drove into Kenora unscathed.  Not quite brave enough to attempt to pitch the tent for the night, we parked the car, reclined the seats and got a few hours of sleep (thanks Tim Horton’s for the parking lot).
