The morning in Treherne was brisk – my light sleeping bag was not enough to block the prairie chill. An early morning run was enough to get the heart pumping and sweat flowing.
What followed was a long drive, passing through the open fields of the prairies under a big blue sky.
We could not contain our excitement when we reached Manitoba’s western border; it was the first time that Kate and I had set foot on Saskatchewan soil.

Our next stop was Regina, Saskatchewan’s capital city. No visit would be complete without strolling around the Parliament building and admiring the lush gardens. Here’s a taste of what we saw:

In good spirits, we left Regina and camped outside of Moose Jaw at Bezant Campground. It was frigid, but a campfire helped warm our numb hands.
