It was time for me to say goodbye to Vancouver, but not before making a trip to the famous Stanley Park!
Unfortunately, it was drizzling rain, which made me sad.
But have faith! The seawall was still walkable, and I managed to see a bit of the city from across the city by foot (at least until my parking pass expired).
I didn’t spend nearly enough time in Vancouver – a return trip is necessary.
I then drove out of the city, heading South to Surrey, BC. There, I stopped at the King George Aviation School (thanks for the tip Adriana and Martin!).
In a two-seater plane, Ben (the pilot) and I soared into the air, reaching an altitude of 2000 feet within minutes.
Once we were over White Rock, Ben handed me the controls and I was able to feel the movements of the plane and fly our aircraft for 5 mins! What an experience!
After the flight, I was on the ferry to Vancouver Island.
Once on the island, it was a short drive to Victoria, where I stayed with my old friend Kate. Thanks again Kate and Sandy for the accommodations!
