The Sun was shining in Vancouver, so it was time to accomplish a goal that I had set back in September: ride around Stanley Park on a bike.
I rented a Giant Escape (a city/hybrid bicycle), which was nimble enough to navigate the busy Seawall pathway yet still able to pick up some speed on the roads.
After a full loop around Stanley Road, I hopped onto the causeway (i.e., Highway 99) and journeyed over the Lions Gate Bridge.
I had to stop in the middle of the bridge to look out at the the city and the ocean (on the way back from North Van).
My bike ride did not end here – I continued along the Seawall into the heart of West Vancouver (no photos – I was busy dodging buses and pedestrians), Gastown…
Old Chinatown…
and Granville Island (where I picked up some fresh Coho salmon at the Public Market).
Needless to say, it was delicious.
