To my great relief, my tent was completely dry in the morning. I packed up quickly and continued on the road through BC.
As I approached the towns of Revelstoke and Golden, hills were replaced by mountains.
In Revelstoke, I gassed up at a Petro Canada and saw a man with a cardboard sign that read: “Please help me go home. Happy Thanksgiving!” in black marker. Curious, I asked him for “his story”. His name is Steven and is from the East Coast. We had a conversation about living in Halifax and shared a laugh. I handed him three apples, wished him luck with his journey home and continued on my way.
Shortly afterward, I hit a massive construction zone and was held up for at least 45 minutes on the highway.
I thoroughly enjoyed this leg of the drive. It’s hard to believe that only one month ago, I was here in Yoho and Banff! The views of the mountains never get old…
The day got even better when I greeted my lil’ sister Sara at the Calgary International Airport. Sara is going to join me on the return journey to Essex. Things are about to get interesting…
Thanks again to James and Matt for the couch and bed to sleep on tonight :).

Happy to be here! 🙂
