After surviving the night, we packed up the dewy tent and said goodbye to Port Sydney.  The next stop was the cute little town of Huntsviille, ON.  Algonquin Outfitters supplied us with a sturdy canoe for a two hour trip down into Hunter’s Bay and around Gallaugher Island.  Even though it was Kate’s first canoe trip, she held own as a navigator.

Honouring the advice of the locals, we had to stop and see the views from the Lion’s Lookout:

The afternoon consisted of a long cruise on the Trans Canada up to Sudbury, where (of course) we stopped and had a look at the giant Nickel (it wasn’t very difficult to find).

Back on the road…  We rolled into Sault Ste. Marie late in the evening and were welcomed by my grandfather’s cousin, Stephan Namespetra, who lives in Gros Cap (20 km outside of the town).

We were treated with a delicious and hearty meal of pork chops and potatoes.  Most importantly, generous helpings of slivovica were passed around (sorry, Kate).
