I should mention that last night, we met a wonderful couple from Germany, Lars and Katherine.  Our new friends shared their travelling experiences from Canada, chips and beer.

Best of luck to them as they venture deeper into the Canadian Rockies!

James and Matt served as tour guides again and took us to two natural wonders:

#1 – The Natural Bridge at Yoho – a tunnel carved out of the rock by the punishing glacial waters of the Kicking Horse River.

#2 – Another glacial lake which, in my opinion, is more spectacular than Lake Louise. I won’t give out the name to this lesser-known gem – just ask me about it later ;).

Of course, I had to be that crazy guy who jumps into the frigid glacial water and goes for a casual swim.

At this point, we had to say goodbye to Matt and James and continue our journey deeper into BC.

As we drove southwest, the landscape began to change – the rough Rocky Mountains were replaced by rolling green foothills.

Daylight disappeared quickly and we camped in a campground outside of Vernon.

  1. It was a really really great (but unfortunately also a very short) time with you guys. Thanks a lot for inviting us. Hoping to do this again, somewhere in the future. Maybe in Germany 😉 or Canada again 🙂 🙂
